Another great collection, tho the Cat Power was my fave.
Holy Cats! That Paint it Black cover by Mother Goose was freakin’ incredible! Apparently, it is available no where at all. I would love to hear the rest of the album.
Some vinyl copies on Ebay, i’ve only seen their first album in CD format – great band and had the best ‘live show’ that i’ve seen
Brilliant again. Us Brits really did rule the roost in the 60’s and 70’s didn’t we on the songwriting front?!
Just a note regarding ‘Out of Time’. If you asked most UK music fans about this they would refer to the Chris Farlowe version, which hit the number one spot in 1966, the same year it was recorded by the Stones. The single was actually produced by Mick Jagger. It came out in the USA a year later when Flowers was released there.
In fact, until recently, I did not know it was a Stones song at all, such is the coverage here of the Chris Farlowe version.
Brian,
I thought Sympathy for the Devil was your favorite Stones song???
