Ah, my ex has the Coneheads soundtrack; I’d forgotten that cut.
An interesting note about track #3… there is an Art of Noise track called “Donna” which sounds strikingly similar to this one. Since the “Jon” in “Jon and Vangelis” is Jon Anderson from ‘Yes’, and this cut came out at about the same time, I can almost guarantee you that Art of Noise synth programmer J.J. Jeczalik, who worked heavily on ‘Yes’s 90125 and other ZTT label stuff, probably had a heavy hand in the production of this track and expanded on his own work to create the AoN instrumental, naming it after the singer.
Interesting that there’s a German cover in here: Donna Summer actually toured Germany as a “Hair” cast member and appears on the 1968 German cast recording. There’s a film clip on YouTube…search for “Donna Summer Flesh Failures”…I don’t want to risk looking like a spammer by posting the direct link.
