Thanks to Jeff and Joe for letting me know about this!
Dr. Martens (the show company that made those awesome Air Wair Cherry Red Leather boots I bought on Carnaby Street and then got scratched up somehow and really bummed me out) is celebrating 50 years with 10 covers, presented by 10 artists and 10 video directors.
The full set of songs and artists can be found here.
They may be celebrating 50 years, but they are no longer made in England. Now they are made in China and the quality has gone down. My husband is very bummed. Loved their boots and last pair he was so disappointed with. Oh well, lots of things are moving in that direction.
DM did indeed move production to China in 2002, but not completely. They still make the "Vintage" range from the original factory in Woolaston, Northamptonshire – using the original 1959 machine. I think you can get these delivered to the USA too These do cost a bit more, but I'd say it was worth it. The "Lifetime" range is also worth checking out as they promise to replace or repair them forever.

Just seen that there is a factory shop in Woolaston…not that far from me. Always wanted a pair of DM's but they were for the rough boys only in my youth…maybe I will pay them a visit…!
Daliah, I can't agree with you more. I've worn Dr. Marten's EXCLUSIVELY for over 20 years, with boots lasting an average of 3 to 4 years, up until a couple of years ago. Now I'm lucky to get 6 months out of a pair before the soles crack and the uppers peal. Brings me to tears, it does.
