Thanks to Ian and Rick for this link! Here’s a YouTube video of Hurra Torpedo’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” which indeed is played on kitchen appliances (not an automobile accident, as I compared it to during last night’s show).
Keep an ear out at about 1:05, where the vocals mysteriously change to “…living in a kowder peg and giving off sparks.”
I think when they were talking about “falling apart” they surely were referring to their pants. All three of them could use some suspenders. I thought it was going to turn into the Full Monty there for a minute.
Other than that, pretty interesting. Thanks for the link, Ian and Rick.
The first time through, I was howling with laughter. The second time through I was wondering just what drugs they were on. By listen number 10 (all in one day) I realized I was probably hearing one of my top 10 favorite cover songs ever.
I’m a long time cover song lover, and I’ve been with Coverville for roughly 150 episodes, even though this is the first time I’ve felt the urge to write a comment. And it’s the discovery of songs like this that keep me coming back.
I love the appliance crashes as illustrating the lyrics “falling apart”
